Our Story
DelMonico Hatter first opened its doors over a century ago in 1908—in the very same, New Haven, Connecticut location that we occupy today.
Our family business was founded by the first of four, proud generations of Hatters—a hat maker from Salerno, Italy. He was succeeded by his son, the second generation—who owned, operated, and continued our family tradition for more than 70 years—from the late 1920s until his passing in 2001 at the age of 90.

Our business has grown steadily, first supported by local New Haven, Connecticut patrons, and over time by others throughout New England and beyond. It would no doubt surprise and delight our Great Grandad to know that the business that was his pride and joy has since become the Hatter to a loyal and growing, national customer base.
