Never wrote a review before but Del Monico asked and I love these Wigens hats, and DM's delivery was fast. Wigens are beautiful. I'm between a 58 and 59 head size. With very long hair the 58 is a bit tight, but with a normal cut it fits snug. I bought the 59 in this model (I was nervous about the adjustment) and it's looser but still fits snug and comfortable. This is a beautiful hat. I have another from this brand that is 15 years old and still looks great. The earflaps are a legit bonus on a very cold evening. Using them does not degrade the fit. I had a compliment on this hat on the first night. It stands out more than the herringbone (tweed, I think) model I previously purchased simply because the material here is of an obviously very high quality. This is a solid hat from an excellent hat maker that is so cocky they don't bother having a website that allows for direct sales.

Bought this for my son as a present because I have had one for a few years and I know it is a great winter hat. I have two choices when it is too bitter cold and/or windy for a fedora. If there is no sun I go with the mad bomber. If there is sun I go with this. Oddly enough with the earflaps down it is as warm and windproof as the bomber and the brim is great against the winter sun.
