Description:

The Akubra Snowy River is a pre-creased stockman's hat with a pinched telescope crown and a brim with rolled sides with front and back turned down. This perennial outback style may be worn down low over the face or turned back on the head in typical Australian fashion. The Snowy River features a 4 inch crown and a 3¼ inchwide brim with a raw edge. The fur felt is Imperial Quality from Akubra. The interior is fully lined with reeded roan leather sweatband and bonded leather ornamental band with chin strap hooks set inside the crown for easy attachment of a chin strap. The UPF rating is 50+. Made in Australia.

Replacement Akubra Snowy River
I purchased this hat to replace my original Akubra Snowy River, purchased in Adelaide, Australia in 1990 when I was there. The fawn color is a bit darker then mine but then, mine is 34 years old and seen a lot of time out-of-doors. The description says, " chin strap hooks set inside the crown for easy attachment of a chin strap" but there are none. As I have no need for a chin strap it's a bit of a moot point, but the description should be changed. It fits well and I'm looking forward to 30+ years with this new hat.

Looks good and appears well made. Sizing is generous and required some padding behind the sweat band to fit me properly. I’m pleased with the hat.
