Stetson Hats
In 1865 John B. Stetson borrowed $60 from his sister to rent a small room and launch his own hat business. In 1870 he purchased a building on the northern outskirts of Philadelphia to sell his Stetson hats - which would eventually become the largest hat factory in America. At the turn of the century, Stetson hats become a household name through John B. Stetson's innovative cowboy hat marketing and his leadership. In the 1920s, he produced fashionable Stetson hats for all the latest fashion trends, hats that were worn by all the hot stars of the Jazz Age. Stetson managed to stay afloat through the Great Depression and bounced back during World War II when they produced thousands of Stetson hats for the military. Stetson hats are standard headwear for cowboys and anyone with a touch of Western style. Stetson hatmakers have always prided themselves on being the go-to for frontiersmen, pioneers, industrialists, and enthusiasts. With a focus on hand-crafted hats made from top quality natural materials, Stetson hats are an American icon. And though Stetson may be most well-known for Western style and cowboy hats, Stetson hats include a variety of styles including straw hats, fedoras, fur felt hats, Gun Club hats, outdoor hats, and cloth caps. To this day, the Stetson name remains a legend that is synonomous with handsome hats for everyone.
